China offers ₹43,000 subsidy per child to boost falling birth rate
China has announced that it'd offer annual subsidies of $500 (over ₹43,000) for each child under three years old to combat its falling birth rate. China's population has been declining for three years in a row, with only 9.54 million births recorded last year. China's shrinking population is also ageing, with nearly 310 million people aged over 60 in 2024.
