Co-pilot was flying plane, Captain was monitoring it: AAIB report on Air India crash
AAIB's preliminary report on the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad stated that 32-year First Officer Kunder, the co-pilot of the flight, was flying the plane when it crashed. It also noted that 56-year-old Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, who holds the highest level of pilot certification, was monitoring the flight. The two pilots had combined total flying experience of 19,000 hours.
