Domestic air passenger traffic sees decline after Air India crash
Domestic air passenger traffic dropped 2.94% year-on-year to 1.26 crore in July, Directorate General of Civil Aviation data showed. Indian airlines had carried 1.29 crore passengers in July 2024. The decline follows the June 12 Air India Ahmedabad-London plane crash that killed over 260 people. Notably, IndiGo increased its share of the domestic market to 65.2% from 64.5% in June.
