Early DEXA detects osteoporosis; treatment cuts fracture risk
Age-related decline in bone remodeling disrupts skeletal homeostasis. Low peak bone mass, hormonal shifts (eg- postmenopausal estrogen loss), and reduced mechanical loading all accelerate osteoporosis. Early DEXA screening enables proactive intervention using bisphosphonates, monoclonal antibodies, or hormone therapy to improve bone mineral density and reduce fracture risk.
