Eating ultra-processed food may alter brain structure: Study
A global study that analysed brain scans from 30,000 individuals found that consuming ultra-processed foods (UPFs) may alter brain structure. The brain changes may be tied to overeating patterns, creating a cycle that reinforces unhealthy eating behaviours. UPFs, including chips, sodas, and processed meats, are high in salt, sugar, and additives but low in nutrients.
