ESA to launch Mars rover in 2028 to find ancient life
ESA's long-delayed Rosalind Franklin rover is now slated for launch in 2028. Originally planned with NASA, the mission stalled after US budget cuts in 2012 and later faced setbacks when Russia withdrew amid tensions with NASA rejoining in 2024. The rover will target Oxia Planum, a promising site to search for traces of ancient Martian life.
