Ex-Meta employee alleges major security flaws in WhatsApp, sues the company
A former Meta employee, Attaullah Baig who was head of security at WhatsApp, sued the company, alleging that the messaging app contains "systemic cybersecurity failures" that potentially compromise user privacy. He alleged that Meta retaliated against him after he notified top executives, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Meta, however, denied Baig's claims, terming his allegations "distorted".
