Excerpt from ex-Foreign Secy's book, explaining how India rejected Philips in 1970s, resurfaces
An excerpt from ex-Foreign Secretary MK Rasgotra's book, which detailed how India lost chance to be Asia's major electronics hub by rejecting Philips in 1970s, has resurfaced on social media. Rasgotra said Philips senior officials had approached to set up a research and production centre, but his request wasn't forwarded to ex-PM Indira Gandhi by Union Minister Raja Dinesh Singh.
