Expert clarifies whether cloud seeding harms the environment
IIT-Kanpur Director Professor Manindra Agrawal clarified that cloud seeding poses no threat to humans or the environment. Speaking after Delhi’s artificial rain attempt, he said the process used less than 1 kg of silver iodide over 100 sq km, far below harmful levels. Agrawal called cloud seeding a safe, emergency measure to temporarily ease pollution, not a permanent solution.
