Eye injury forced Mark Boucher to end international career with 999 dismissals
Former South Africa wicketkeeper Mark Boucher retired from international cricket in 2012 with 999 fielding dismissals, the most by a cricketer in history, after sustaining an eye injury. Boucher, who turned 48 on Tuesday, was hit with a bail in the left eye during a tour match in England. Out of his 999 dismissals, 998 came as a wicketkeeper.
