Father of gold smuggling accused Ranya Rao reinstated as DGP
The Karnataka government on Monday withdrew the compulsory leave imposed on Director General of Police Ramachandra Rao, who was linked to gold smuggling case involving his step-daughter Ranya Rao. The government has posted him as Director General of Police, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement to the upgraded, vacant post. Ramachandra was sent on compulsory leave in March.
