Austrian skydiver and extreme athlete Felix Baumgartner, known for jumping from the edge of space in 2012, died aged 56 in a paragliding crash in Italy. He reportedly lost control of his motorised paraglider over Porto Sant'Elpidio in the Marche region and fell near a hotel swimming pool. The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
