Florida deploys robot rabbits to lure & capture Burmese pythons
South Florida Water Management District in coordination with researchers from University of Florida has released 120 robot rabbits to lure and capture the invasive Burmese pythons around Everglades National Park in US. The robots mimic movements and body temperature of marsh rabbits, favourite prey of Burmese pythons. Notably, pythons have wiped out around 95% of small mammals in the area.
