Former RBI Governor Urjit Patel appointed IMF Executive Director
The former RBI (Reserve Bank of India) Governor Urjit Patel was appointed as the IMF's (International Monetary Fund) Executive Director for 3 years. Patel, who served as RBI Governor between 2016 and 2018, will represent India on the IMF’s Executive Board, which oversees the organisation’s day-to-day operations and makes key policy decisions. The IMF’s Executive Board has 25 directors.
