Fossil found in Jaisalmer identified as 200-million-year-old phytosaur
The fossil remains discovered in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer have been identified as an about 200-million-year-old phytosaur, reportedly making it the first well-preserved fossil of the semiaquatic reptiles found in India. "After England, only India has found such a Jurassic-era discovery," Jai Narain Vyas University's Professor VS Parihar said. He added that phytosaurs look like crocodiles.
