Foxconn offers $1,400 to workers to leave China plant after violent protests
Foxconn has started to offer 10,000 yuan ($1,400) settlement to any workers who choose to leave its iPhone plant in central China. The move comes after violent protests erupted on Tuesday with workers clashing with police over withheld pay and working conditions suffered during a strict COVID-19 lockdown. The payout is reportedly equivalent to one or two months of wages.
