France unveils world’s first highway that wirelessly charges EVs
France has launched the world's first highway that can wirelessly charge electric vehicles (EVs) while they drive. The 1.5-kilometre-long stretch delivers power exceeding 200 kW, peaking at 300 kW, to charge multiple buses, cars, and heavy-duty trucks in motion. The highway has copper coils underneath that generate a magnetic field, which transfers power to EVs with special receivers.
