Fungal lung infections stem from reused, dirty masks: Expert
In 'THIP Media' review, Dr Sanjeev Jain, Consultant-Pulmonologist at Delhi's Fortis Hospital, reports that fungal lung infections aren't triggered by mask-wear itself. This is rather contamination from reused, unclean masks which may create favourable conditions for fungal growth especially in immunocompromised individuals. Hygiene and mask management remain the critical variables for prevention.
