As he travelled to Israel for release of hostages from Gaza, US President Donald Trump said the war in Gaza is over. The war was triggered by Hamas' attacks on Israel in October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage. More than 67,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel, as per Hamas-run health ministry.
