Gill equals Gavaskar's 47-yr-old home captaincy debut record
Shubman Gill scored a half-century on his captaincy debut at home in India's first Test against West Indies in Ahmedabad on Friday. Gill equalled 47-year-old record held by Sunil Gavaskar, becoming only the second Indian captain after Gavaskar to score 50 or more runs in his first home Test as captain. Gill hit 50(100), including five boundaries, against West Indies.
