Global car production hit as Dutch govt takes over China-owned firm that makes simple chips
The Netherlands government's decision to take over China-owned Nexperia, which produces simple semiconductors, switches and diodes, has hit car production globally. This comes after China halted chip exports of Netherlands-headquartered Nexperia, which makes 70% of its output in China. While a Honda factory halted production, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Volkswagen are also facing chip shortages.
