Goa becomes 2nd fully literate state with 99.5% literacy
Goa has become the second state in India to be declared fully literate under the Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society (ULLAS) initiative, achieving a 99.5% literacy rate. CM Pramod Sawant said, "Our sustained collective efforts...have yielded results." He praised the elderly who joined literacy classes, adding, "I thank those above 80...who decided to become literate."
