Gold watch given to man who rescued 700 Titanic survivors sold for ₹16.6 crore
A gold pocket watch presented to a ship captain who rescued around 700 passengers from the Titanic has been sold for £1.56 million (over ₹16.6 crore). This is the highest amount ever paid for Titanic memorabilia, as per the auctioneers. Captain Arthur Rostron diverted his ship to save the passengers after the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank in 1912.
