Google will replace its Weather "app" for Android, which is an extension of Google Search, with a redesigned Search experience, reports stated. This shift from the traditional Weather app experience to new version has been gradual, with reports of the changes first appearing in mid-October. Tapping on the Weather shortcut now opens Google Search results instead of launching Weather "app."
