Govt allows Sikh jathas to visit Pakistan for Prakash Purab
The central government has allowed Sikh jathas (groups of pilgrims) to visit Pakistan in November to participate in the celebrations of Prakash Purab, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Only selected jathas will be allowed to travel, based on recommendations from the respective state governments, a source said. The pilgrims will reportedly cross into Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border.
