Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday announced that the Union Cabinet has approved PAN 2.0 project of the Income Tax Department. The financial implications for the project will be ₹1,435 crore. "The PAN 2.0 Project enables technology-driven transformation of Taxpayer registration services," the government stated, adding that it aims towards common business identifier.
