Govt planning tunnel to supply Indus water to north India before 2029 polls: Reports
Central government is planning to build a 14-kilometre-long tunnel to connect the Indus and Beas rivers to meet the water demands of northern states, reports said on Thursday. The BJP-led government is trying to ensure the project, estimated to cost ₹4,000-₹5,000 crore, is ready ahead of 2029 Lok Sabha elections, reports said. India earlier suspended Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan.
