Govt plans rule for restaurants to declare veg or non-veg menu before opening
The government is considering a rule requiring restaurants to declare whether they serve vegetarian or non-vegetarian food while applying for licence before opening, Livemint reported. As proposed by FSSAI's advisory committee, non-vegetarian outlets would also have to specify if they serve beef or pork, it added. The move aims to respect cultural practices and ensure transparency, it stated.
