Gustav Krumbiegel, German botanist who made B'luru bloom forever
Bengaluru's Garden City crown shines because of Gustav Herman Krumbiegel, the German horticulturist who transformed its landscape between 1908 - 1932. Appointed by the Mysore Maharaja, he introduced exotic trees, including Tabebuias from tropical America pioneered 'serial planting' for year-round blooms, and envisioned a floral Bengaluru.
