High Court flags doctors' poor handwriting, says 'Legible prescription is patients' right'
Punjab and Haryana High Court ruled that patients have a fundamental right to legible medical prescriptions. The court urged the National Medical Commission to include the importance of clear handwriting in prescriptions as part of medical education. It also told doctors of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh to write prescriptions in capital letters till the time typed prescriptions are adopted.
