Hot, humid days can raise heart problems six-fold: Study
Researchers have found that hot and humid days can raise risk of heart-related problems six-fold compared to hot days with low humidity. The study, published in Science of The Total Environment, analysed over 3.4 lakh such visits between 2014-2019 in Bangladesh's Dhaka. Humid conditions hinder ability to sweat and bring down body's temperature, forcing heart to pump harder, researchers said.
