How did a chip breakthrough's rumour in China spark a 2-day stock rally for AI companies?
Shares of China-owned chipmaker SMEE jumped 10% two days in a row over a rumour, Bloomberg reported. The rumour claimed SMEE had developed an EUV lithography machine, which only ASML has developed so far and which allows ever-smaller chips' manufacturing. Though rumour claimed EUV machine was being displayed at a trade show, officials said there was never any machine there.
