Overcrowding is being cited as a main reason after over 30 people died in a stampede at Vijay's Tamil Nadu rally. As per eyewitnesses, large sections of the crowd, eager to catch glimpse of the actor-politician, surged towards the stage barricades. In the rush, several people fainted. Many were trampled upon as police failed to intervene on time.
