How NSG commandos foiled 1993 plane-hijack crisis in minutes
In April 1993, Indian Airlines Flight IC 427 from Srinagar to Delhi was hijacked midair by Mohammad Yousuf, a lone terrorist demanding to fly to Kabul. Denied entry into Pakistan, plane landed at Amritsar, where NSG commandos stormed it and rescued all 141 passengers unharmed. Yousuf was killed within 5 minutes of commandos entering the plane.
