How to check quality of sweets & dairy products?
Overly bright sweets may have synthetic colouring agents and chemicals. To check silver foil adulteration, heat some foil on a spoon. Pure silver foil burns completely, leaving glistering balls while aluminium adulteration leaves grey ash. To detect starch in khoya and chenna, boil some sample with water & add 2-3 drops of tincture of iodine. Blue colour formation indicates adulteration.
