How to identify pure roasted chana amid reports of cancer-causing dye being used?
MP Priyanka Chaturvedi recently claimed that cancer-causing dye is being used in roasted chana. To spot fake chana, soak a few pieces in water, and if it turns milky/chalky, they contain chemicals. Red/yellow stains after crushing them on white tissue also suggest synthetic colouring. When dry-roasted in a pan, authentic chana gives natural fragrance, while fake ones release chemical fumes.
