News18's Titas Chowdhury gave 2.5 stars to 'War 2' and said that Hrithik and Jr NTR-starrer is "all style and no ammo". The review read, "It's ambitious too and ambition is good but it's execution where the film falters." It further adds, "The story is thin, not lean in sleek way, but hollow in a 'was there a draft two?'"
