Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar said if he were the India chief selector, he would have "persuaded" batter Virat Kohli to retire from Tests after the five-match series against England. "We needed his class and experience in this series," he added. The 36-year-old, who scored 9,230 runs in 123 Tests, announced his retirement from the format in May this year.
