IIM graduate claims there's no CPI for middle class, says 'It's based on horse cart fares'
Lokesh Ahuja, an IIM graduate working as a senior Amazon executive, claimed India's retail inflation index doesn't account how middle-class spends. "Your salary hike is based on horse cart fares...CPI still includes...audio cassettes," he said, calling middle-class "heavily taxed and barely subsidised". "While CPI inflation is down to 2.1%, we're still feeling pinch [because of this]," he added.
