IMD issues orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai
As heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday. The Mumbai Police has issued an advisory urging citizens to avoid venturing outdoors unless necessary, and to avoid coastal areas. Andheri subway has been shut due to 1 to 1.5 feet of waterlogging.
