India adds 4,500+ EV chargers on highways under e-drive
India has installed 4,557 EV charging stations along highways, covering 1.46 lakh km. UP leads with 507 stations. Another 4,625 are operational in tier-2 cities. This push, led by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, reflects India’s focus on green mobility. However, no special incentives are currently offered to charging operators, Minister Nitin Gadkari informed Parliament.
