India and Japan building telescope to search extraterrestrial life
India and Japan, along with other countries, are working to build a giant telescope named 'Thirty Metre Telescope' to search for extraterrestrial life in space. The optical-infrared telescope, with a massive 30-metre primary mirror, will also study black holes and distant galaxies. The telescope will be deployed at 4,000 metres height and is expected to become operational by the mid-2030s.
