India developing compact 200-MW nuclear reactors to power ships
India is developing compact 200 MW-class nuclear reactors to power commercial ships, officials said. These Bharat Small Modular Reactors (BSMR), being developed by scientists at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), could also be deployed at captive power plants to serve energy-intensive industries such as cement manufacturing. Additionally, BARC is also developing 55-MW reactors.
