India’s July WPI inflation falls to -0.58%, 2-year low
India's wholesale inflation eased to -0.58% in July, the lowest in two years, driven by steep drops in food and fuel prices. This is the second straight month of negative WPI, after -0.13% in June. The WPI Food Index fell to -2.15%, while fuel and power inflation rose slightly to 1.12%. The RBI recently held rates steady at 5.5%.
