India using Amazon & Flipkart order data to revamp how it measures retail inflation
Statistics Secretary Saurabh Garg said the Centre has already started using data from e-commerce websites like Flipkart and Amazon in 12 cities in an attempt to overhaul how retail inflation is measured. The sites are being asked to share weekly average prices of goods, which will be cross-checked against a broader dataset. The new method will include airfare data too.
