Indian Army let Rajiv Gandhi down in Sri Lankan ops: Shankar Aiyar
Former Congress MP Mani Shankar Aiyar claimed that the Indian Army and the Indian intelligence let the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi down during the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF)'s operation in Sri Lanka. Aiyar also criticised the shortcomings in the planning and execution of the operation, which later led to events resulting in Rajiv Gandhi's assassination in 1991.
