Indian Army's freight train debuts on USBRL, boosts winter prep
In a historic move, the Indian Army ran its first exclusive freight train on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, carrying 753 metric tonnes of Advance Winter Stocking (AWS) loads to Anantnag. The return journey will transport Kashmiri apples to Indian markets, boosting both Army preparedness and local farmers' livelihoods while showcasing dual-use logistics in the Himalayas.
