Indian engineers' UV shoe rack to combat odour wins 'spoof' Nobel
Indian engineers Vikash Kumar and Sarthak Mittal won Ig Nobel Prize for Engineering Design for analysing how foul-smelling shoes affect good experience of using shoe rack. They identified bacteria as source of smell and designed shoe racks fitted with ultraviolet lamps to sanitise them.
