Indian researchers create novel material that detects petrol adulteration, cleans oil spills
Researchers from IIT Guwahati have developed a novel material, called a Phase-Selective Organogelator (PSOG), which can help detect kerosene adulteration in petrol and clean oil spills. The PSOG can trap oils like kerosene and diesel to form a semi-solid gel, which can then be easily removed, the researchers said. PSOG is a special class of safe materials, they added.
