Industrial production slows to 14-month low of 0.4% in Oct
Index of Industrial Production (IIP) eased to a 14-month low of 0.4% in October, down from 4.6% in September, as key sectors contracted, according to government data. The slow industrial production growth could also be due to fewer working days because of several festivals, including Dussehra and Diwali. Growth rates in mining and electricity sectors were (-)1.8% and (-)6.9%, respectively.
